The night of the stars in the Great Italian Gardens

The night of San Lorenzo casts a spell over the Grandi Giardini Italiani. Visit one of the Network's gardens this coming weekend to admire the spectacle of shooting stars.

Whether you are at the seaside or in the city, on vacation or already back home, wherever you are, choose one of the Network's gardens to admire the starry sky until you see that exciting glow in the firmament and perhaps entrust your dreams to the stars.
After all, the garden is the ideal place to see shooting stars, or rather those fragments of meteors that become visible when they come into contact with the Earth's orbit. This phenomenon occurs every year when the Earth, in its revolutionary motion, approaches the constellation of Perseus.

The preview of the night of the stars in Lombardy is entrusted to the Vittoriale degli Italiani with the charity concert Tutto in un sogno for the 10th anniversary of the Associazione Fallo Col Cuore and to Villa Carlotta (Tremezzina, CO), where the Duo Béla Kóvacs will perform as part of the LakeComo Music Festival. In Emilia Romagna, on the other hand, Castello Benelli (Bellaria Igea Marina, RN) invites you to a special candlelit guided tour accompanied by film music, while Palazzo Fantini invites you to the Concert for Tredozio as part of the Emilia Romagna Festival.

If it is the scientific aspect that fascinates you most, your destination is Castello di Masino-Bene FAI (Caravino, Turin) in Piedmont, Villa della Porta Bozzolo - FAI property (Casalzuigno, VA) in Lombardy, or Villa dei Vescovi - FAI property (Luvigliano di Torreglia, PD) in Veneto. Three different botanical treasures where you can discover the secrets of the heavens thanks to the collaboration of the Associazione Celestia Taurinorum of Turin at Castello di Masino, Roberto Sannevigo and the G.V. Schiaparelli Astronomical Observatory at Villa Della Porta Bozzolo and the Padua Planetarium at Villa dei Vescovi. Schiaparelli at Villa Della Porta Bozzolo and the Planetarium of Padua at Villa dei Vescovi.

In Bergamo, on the other hand, at Palazzo Moroni, the promise is to be Astronomi per una notte (Astronomers for a night) thanks to Gianni Locatelli and Luciano Pezzotti, amateur astronomers and science communicators, who will guide you in observing the night sky.

For art lovers, we recommend spending this weekend in Capannori, a few kilometers from Lucca. Here, on the weekend of San Lorenzo, Villa Reale di Marlia is filled with magic and enchantment with performances by dancers, painters, theater artists, photographers, improvisers, singers, sculptors, and jugglers, the artistic soul of the event '' Le Rinascenze by night'', an event that celebrates art in all its forms.

If you love surprises, Lonato in Festival, the highlight of the summer at the Rocca Viscontea di Lonato del Garda (Lonato del Garda, BS) will surprise you as much as the VISUAL SOUND. Festival with videomapping scheduled at Villa d'Este (Tivoli, RM), a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

For lovers of the pleasures of ''bon vivre'', choose Villa del Balbianello -Bene FAI (Tremezzina, CO) in Lombardy, the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle (Merano, BZ) in Trentino Alto Adige, and Palazzo di Varignana (Varignana, BO) in Emilia Romagna: three destinations where the pleasure of astronomical discovery is combined with the pleasure of the palate.

If, on the other hand, you are looking for new ideas, take part in the event at the Reggia di Colorno (Colorno, PR) dedicated to the night of San Lorenzo, “ Turn off the lights and turn on the stars,” a special guided tour of the Piano Nobile and the Astronomical Observatory of Duke Ferdinando.

Finally, if it is the pleasure of silence and the cool evening breeze that you are looking for, know that the night of San Lorenzo is still an opportunity for special evening openings for several gardens in our network, such as Reggia di Venaria (Venaria Reale, TO).
