Milo Manara-one of the most important figures in contemporary comics-takes center stage at the Labirinto della Masone for its autumn 2026 exhibition.
Promoted by the Franco Maria Ricci Foundation and organized in collaboration with COMICON, ''VISIONI. Milo Manara nel Labirinto'' (VISIONS: Milo Manara in the Labyrinth) offers a fresh interpretation of the artist's work through a symbol deeply tied to the site's identity: the labyrinth.
Born of Franco Maria Ricci's cultural universe and his relationship with Jorge Luis Borges, the Labyrinth provides an ideal vantage point for exploring Manara's imagery, tracing a path through much of his body of work-a journey spanning imagination, myth, and inner exploration.
🌀 Three paths into Manara's imagination
Over a career spanning more than fifty years, Milo Manara has created a visual universe that engages in a dialogue with literature, cinema, and the great Western artistic tradition. The exhibition invites visitors to discover this world through a selection of original comic pages, illustrations, and preparatory sketches drawn from the artist's personal archive, private collections, and international lenders.
The exhibition is organized into three sections, interpreting the labyrinth as a mental space, a realm of myth, and a metaphor for the inner journey.
📖 The exhibition volume
As is customary, the exhibition is accompanied by a volume published by Franco Maria Ricci Editore, with texts by Pietro Mercogliano and Claudio Curcio.
