Cracking Nature at Sigurtà Garden Park

Starting June 17th and continuing throughout the summer, the 60-hectare Parco Giardino Sigurtà (Valeggio sul Mincio, VR) hosts Cracking Nature, an extraordinary exhibition by the renowned Cracking Art collective.

162 colorful contemporary artworks, depicting various animals in large format, will guide visitors on a unique immersive journey through creativity, sustainability, and nature.

Four years after their first successful collaboration-which saw the world premiere of the famous work Oca-the contemporary art collective returns to engage with the Park's stunning natural scenery.

Starting June 17, 2026, the nature reserve will be transformed into a true open-air museum. The exhibition is designed to integrate seamlessly with the landscape, creating a unique chromatic and conceptual contrast among summer events in Veneto.

Regenerated Plastic and Sustainable Art: The Meaning of ''Cracking''
The giant sculptures (ranging in size from one to three meters) are made entirely of regenerated and regenerable plastic.
The name of the movement derives from the English verb ''to crack'' (to crack, break, yield). In scientific jargon, catalytic cracking is the chemical process that transforms crude oil into plastic.
For the artists, this represents the exact moment when the natural becomes artificial, the organic becomes synthetic.
Through the exhibition, the collective aims to narrate this transition, raising public awareness of recycling and environmental protection.

The Installations
Considered by the curators to be one of the collective's most important international milestones, the exhibition displays its works among centuries-old hornbeams, boxwoods, and maples. During your visit, you'll see colorful depictions of:
◆ The Dolphin and the Wolf
◆ The Snail and the Frog
◆ The Wild Goose and the Penguin
◆ The Marmot and the Turtle
◆ The Rabbit and the Crocodile
◆ The Swallow and the Elephant

An Immersive and Interactive Journey
Located in the flat area of the Park, just steps from the main entrance, the exhibition invites visitors to an interactive and participatory experience. The conceptual core of Cracking Nature revolves around a symbolic question: ''Which animal represents you?'' Visitors are encouraged to reflect on the instincts and characteristics that humans and the animal world share.
To make the experience even more engaging, the Garden ticket office will distribute special guide maps packed with curious and humorous content, designed to help adults and children recognize the strengths and weaknesses of each artwork.

Who is the Cracking Art Collective?
Founded in 1993, the art movement is internationally renowned for its urban and natural installations populated by giant animals made of recyclable plastic. The collective is currently composed of artists Renzo Nucara, Marco Veronese, Alex Angi, Kicco, and William Sweetlove.
