For the 2026 season, OCA-Oasy Contemporary Art (San Marcello, PT) welcomes a new international presence: Belgian artist Arne Quinze.
The project is structured around a dual project: a new environmental installation that integrates with the artistic journey of Oasi Dynamo, and a solo exhibition, ''I'm a Gardener,'' which explores his research on the relationship between humans and biodiversity.
The Exhibition
The exhibition ''I'm a Gardener''-in dialogue with the installation Ceramorphia-represents Arne Quinze's first major Italian exhibition. Presented in the OCA exhibition spaces, it features a selection of paintings and works on canvas that explore the relationship between humans and nature.
The Artist
Arne Quinze (Ghent, 1971) is a Belgian conceptual artist known for his monumental sculptures and installations, often phytomorphic in form and made from recycled materials. After an initial training at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, he abandoned his studies to delve into graffiti art, an experience that would profoundly influence his work in public spaces.
Over the course of his career, he has created works worldwide, including Uchronia (2006) at Burning Man in Nevada, Cityscape (2007-2009) and La Sequenza (2008) in Brussels, and Faro Rosso (2010) in Shanghai.
At the heart of his research is the relationship between humanity and nature: through his installations, Quinze aims to transform urban spaces into places of encounter and sharing, promoting biodiversity, connection, and the valorization of diversity.
