On Friday, March 20, the Gardens of Villa della Pergola (Alassio, Savona) will reopen to the public with daily guided tours, ushering in one of the most anticipated moments of the Ligurian spring: the spectacular wisteria bloom.
In a triumph of colors and scents, over 40 varieties of wisteria envelop pergolas and terraces, creating unique displays with evocative views of the sea. A true natural stage, today considered the most important wisteria collection in Italy, certified by the Italian Horticultural Society.
🌿 The Wisteria Collection: History and Rebirth
The collection is the result of careful restoration and enhancement work begun in 2006 by the Ricci family, under the guidance of landscape architect Paolo Pejrone.
Wisteria, deeply tied to the history of the Villa, was particularly beloved by the English and Scottish families who lived here between the 19th and 20th centuries. Historical accounts tell of spring celebrations, such as the famous ''Wisteria Party,'' a symbolic moment of the flowering season.
Today, thanks to restoration work and the creation of new pergolas, the collection represents an internationally recognized botanical excellence.

To mark the 20th anniversary of the Gardens' rescue, the Wisteria Masterclass Experience is born, an exclusive journey dedicated to the discovery of this extraordinary flower.
