The Labirinto della Masone (Fontanellato, PR) presents Erté. Style is Everything, the major spring exhibition dedicated to Erté, the undisputed master of Art Deco and a key figure in twentieth-century visual culture.
Set designer, costume designer, illustrator, and visual artist, Erté created a unique language, blending fashion, theater, graphics, and entertainment into a refined and instantly recognizable aesthetic. His works recount the ultra-modern elegance of the 1920s and 1930s, the world of divas, and the dialogue between high fashion and mass culture.
The Exhibition: Over 150 Works on Display
The exhibition brings together over 150 works, many of which have never been exhibited publicly before, offering a broad and unprecedented insight into Erté's creative universe. The exhibition includes:
- original drawings and sketches
- stencils and lithographs
- editorial materials and documents
- film materials
Particular attention is paid to the 1910s, 1920s, and 1930s, considered the most original and innovative period of his career. Loans include works from the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, Italian and international private collections, and the 28 works from the Franco Maria Ricci collection.
