On Tuesday, July 22nd, at 9:00 PM, one month after the passing of Arnaldo Pomodoro, Horti-Almo Collegio Borromeo and the Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro will celebrate the Maestro's art and legacy with a special evening opening of the art park.
The event will be introduced by a greeting from Carlotta Montebello, General Director of the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation, and Alberto Lolli, Rector of the Collegio Borromeo and Director of the Horti.
The concert under the stars, curated by Alessandro Marangoni, internationally renowned pianist and Artistic Director of the Collegio Borromeo, will take place in the presence of Pomodoro's opera Triade. Recalling the three pillars of the famous opera, the event will be divided into three parts and will pay homage to the artist with pieces dear to him and several of his interviews.
As Rector Alberto Lolli said in his homily at the Maestro's funeral, Arnaldo Pomodoro ''was a master not only of art but also of life.'' The world-renowned artist-whose life, like his works, was monumental-taught us that beauty must be shared.
In addition to the Triad and the Movimento di Collapse, exhibited in the courtyard of the Extra Art space, Pomodoro also left a profound mark on the Horti through the works of his artist friends Gianfranco Pardi, Mauro Staccioli, Luigi Mainolfi, Salvatore Cuschera, and Nicola Carrino, on loan from his Foundation's Collection.
