From April 5 to June 8, the Giardino di Ninfa (Cisterna di Latina, LT) hosts Ultrasky - Discovering Egyptian Blue from the Arts to the Sciences, an exhibition that combines contemporary art and scientific innovation in an immersive journey into the heart of one of the most fascinating pigments of antiquity.
The exhibition project, set up simultaneously also at the Archaeological Museum of Priverno, finds in the Garden of Ninfa a unique setting: here, at the end of the tour on days open to the public, visitors can be surprised by the invisible light and optical properties of Egyptian blue, thanks to original works and cutting-edge technological devices installed in the ancient sacristy of San Giovanni.
The Garden, with its timeless beauty, is thus transformed into a meeting point between the past and the future, between nature, art and science. Nine contemporary artists, including Viola Alpi, the CaCO3 collective, Matteo Peducci and Kamilia Kard, reinterpret the Egyptian blue in creations ranging from fashion to ceramics, mosaic to digital art.
Ultrasky is a project of Adamantio srl - Science in Conservation (organization curated by Cifram), sponsored by the Accademia dei Lincei and supported by éEni S.p.A., as part of the international BLUENET network. Signing the curatorship: Rolando Bellini, Marco Nicola and Antonio Sgamellotti.
