The charm of a historic residence, the daring exploits of Gabriele d'Annunzio, and the wonders of the world of aviation-the Castello di San Pelagio in Due Carrare (Padua) remains open throughout the winter months, offering special events for both adults and children.
On Sundays in January and February 2027, visitors can explore the Castle-a site deeply connected to the historic ''Flight over Vienna'' on August 9, 1918, when Gabriele d'Annunzio and the *Serenissima* squadron took off from this very location for one of the most celebrated feats in the history of Italian aviation.
The visit offers the chance to discover the *Stanze dannunziane* (D'Annunzio's rooms) through two guided tours held in the afternoon. Guests can also immerse themselves in the world of aviation at the Flight Museum-accessible via an audio guide-and wander through the historic park, home to enchanting green labyrinths.
Even on the coldest days, the experience continues in a heated reception area, featuring a dedicated space for young aspiring designers of flying machines, an introductory video about the Castle, and a self-service bar for a relaxing break.
It is a wonderful opportunity to engage with the region's historical and cultural heritage, blending memory, discovery, and activities for the whole family.
