From August 31 to September 26, 2026, the historic Villa Togni già Averoldi in Gussago, in the heart of Franciacorta, hosts the third edition of the Le Rose Festival, organized by the Fondazione Domani l'Aurora - Camillo Togni ETS.
Five events bring ancient and baroque music performed on historical instruments to the Villa's historic spaces, along with meetings and projects dedicated to 20th-century music. 🎻
This edition also marks the celebrations for the six-hundredth anniversary of the Gussago Conspiracy, a historic episode that in 1426 involved several Brescian nobles, including Gherardo Averoldi, in the conspiracy against the Visconti family. The story is still told today in the fresco cycle in the Sala della Congiura, created in the 17th century.
🌹 Why ''Le Rose''?
The festival's name comes from the intermezzo ''Le Rose,'' composed by Camillo Togni in 1988.
Born in Gussago in 1922 and passed away in Brescia in 1993, Togni is one of the most important figures of 20th-century Italian music. The Villa was his home and, over the years, welcomed important figures in international music, including Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, Alfred Cortot, Pierre Boulez, Sviatoslav Richter, and Carlo Maria Giulini.
In 1993, a few days before his death, Togni composed Domani l'Aurora, his last completed composition: the Foundation that organizes the festival takes its name from this title.
🌿 The Villa and its Gardens
The Festival Le Rose was born in 2024, on the occasion of the opening to the public of the restored gardens of Villa Togni.
The Villa and its gardens are now part of the networks Grandi Giardini Italiani, Associazione Dimore Storiche Italiane, FAI - Fondo per l'Ambiente Italiano, and APGI - Associazione Parchi e Giardini d'Italia.

Journalist and writer Beppe Severgnini will open the festival with a reflection on the Italian character and identity. This is the only event of the festival to take place outdoors, in the Piazzale dei Giardini of the Villa.

A concert-reading dedicated to Antonio Vivaldi. Conductor and composer Federico Maria Sardelli alternates conducting the Modo Antiquo Ensemble with readings of excerpts from his novel ''The Vivaldi Affair,'' which chronicles the discovery and dispersion of Vivaldi's precious manuscript collection.
The program features music by Vivaldi, including the Concerto RV 813, the Sonata RV 820, the Violin Concerto RV 818, and In Memoria Aeterna.
