Verdi e Contenti, the leading horticultural fair and market for Central Italy, returns for its eighth edition. This September 12 and 13, it brings nurserymen, producers, and green artisans from all over Italy to the Centro Botanico Moutan (Vitorchiano, VT). 🌿
The theme of the 2026 edition is ''Planting Trees to Cultivate Hope,'' a concrete and symbolic invitation to care for the future through a simple and powerful gesture: planting a tree.
Between late summer and early autumn, nature offers particularly favorable conditions for planting trees and plants and ushering them into the cold season. This time of new beginnings also becomes an opportunity to reflect on our relationship with nature and our responsibility towards future generations. 🌱

During the weekend, you can discover and purchase plants, flowers, trees, products, and green artisan creations, meeting selected nurserymen and producers.
The market exhibition will be enriched by a program of workshops, conferences, meetings with experts and guests, free workshops, and activities for children, allowing you to experience gardening not only as a passion, but also as a tool for understanding and raising environmental awareness.
This year's theme is inspired by ''The Man Who Planted Trees'' by Jean Giono, the story of Elzéard Bouffier, the shepherd who with patience and dedication transforms an abandoned land into a forest. A story that reminds us how even a silent and constant gesture can generate, over time, extraordinary change.
🌿 The setting: the Moutan Botanical Center
The event takes place at the Moutan Botanical Center in Vitorchiano, just outside Viterbo, a unique place dedicated to botany and garden culture.
The Center is part of the Great Italian Gardens network and houses the richest and most complete collection of Chinese tree and herbaceous peonies in the world: 15 hectares of gardens with over 250,000 plants and approximately 600 varieties.
