The Garden Tells Its Story, One Sunday a Month is a special guided tour of the Pojega Garden (Negrar, VR) that leads visitors on a discovery of something new every Sunday.
Every first Sunday of the month, at 10:30 a.m., expert guides accompany visitors through the monumental avenues, the Teatro di Verzura, and the Belvedere, sharing anecdotes, curiosities, and stories that only those with intimate knowledge of this place can reveal.
In the heart of Valpolicella, among the Pojega vineyards, in 1783 Count Antonio Rizzardi commissioned architect Luigi Trezza to create a garden that would combine the geometry of an Italian garden with the free and romantic character of the landscape.
Spreading over 54,000 square meters and arranged on three levels, the Garden still retains its original layout. Among its most evocative architectural features is the Green Theater, with steps carved into box hedges and mythological statues. The more informal upper level leads through a grove to the evocative circular temple, surrounded by greenery.
A place where nature, art, and history meet, and where every path becomes a story.
This year, the Pojega Garden has been restored to its former splendor thanks to a major restoration project funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
