From August 1st to December 5th, on Saturdays and Sundays, don't miss the exclusive guided tour ''Between Villa and Tempietto,'' a unique opportunity to discover the treasures of Villa Maser (Maser, TV): the interior frescoes of Villa di Maser by Paolo Veronese and the interior of the Tempietto, designed by Andrea Palladio.
You'll be able to admire one of the most important treasures of the Venetian Renaissance: the six magnificently frescoed rooms by Paolo Veronese and the elegant stuccoes by Alessandro Vittoria, commissioned to decorate the Villa, built around the mid-16th century by architect Andrea Palladio as the prestigious headquarters of the brothers Daniele and Marcantonio Barbaro's agricultural estate. Palladio was responsible for transforming the old medieval palace owned by the family into a splendid country residence suited to the study of the arts and intellectual contemplation.
From the Villa, the tour will then proceed to the Tempietto, one of the works most cherished by its creator, the Vicenza-born architect Andrea Palladio, who created it at the end of his career, around 1580, fulfilling a long-cherished dream: to build a church with a circular plan. The circle, being infinite, is, according to the architect, the shape that comes closest to representing God. The building was commissioned by Marcantonio Barbaro, who wanted to give the community of Maser a new parish church.
