Summer on Lake Como lights up with the third installment of ''The 4 Seasons of Villa Erba,'' the festival promoted by Villa Erba and conceived by Teatro Sociale di Como AsLiCo, with the contribution of the Municipality of Cernobbio and the support of major local institutions.
On Monday, July 13, the splendid setting of the historic park of Villa Erba in Cernobbio will be the backdrop for ''Parco in Festa,'' a special evening designed to celebrate the beautiful season among centuries-old trees, breathtaking panoramic views, and a timeless atmosphere, blending dance, great music, and artistic workshops.
🩰 Moving Landscape: a contemporary dance itinerary
The dances will open with Moving Landscape, an evocative site-specific performance conceived by choreographer Monica Casadei and staged by Compagnia Artemis Danza, one of the most influential dance companies on the Italian contemporary dance scene. The performance, presented in two performances at 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm, will lead the audience on an immersive six-stage journey through the park and rooms of the Villa Antica. Guided by famous soundtracks, the dancers' bodies will interact with the architecture of the dock and the gardens, transforming the walk into a multisensory experience that will make the spectators themselves an integral part of the scene.
🎻 Great Virtuosity in the Patio: Visions for Violin
At 9:00 PM, the spotlight will shift to the Patio for the concert ''Visions for Violin,'' featuring the extraordinary Dutch violinist Hawijch Elders, recent winner of the 2025 Antonio Mormone International Prize. A former Artist in Residence in Brussels and with a very recent solo recording debut for Decca Universal in 2026, Elders is considered one of the most promising talents of her generation. Accompanied by her instrument, she will lead the audience on a journey through the solo violin repertoire, performing works of profound expressive and virtuosic impact by masters such as Bach, Biber, Ysaÿe, Kreisler, and Ernst.
🏛️ The ''Fuori Villa'' program at Villa Bernasconi
The celebration will actually begin in the morning thanks to the initiatives hosted at nearby Villa Bernasconi:
From 10:00 am to 6:00 pm: Special and free opening of the Villa Bernasconi Museum-House.
From 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm: Space for bodily expression with the contemporary dance workshop ''Tracce in Movimento,'' curated by Ladislaja Pietrangeli. The workshop, open to all ages and levels of experience, is inspired by the works of artist Davide Dall'Osso present in Cernobbio, inviting participants to explore the connection between body, art, and the surrounding space. (Comfortable clothing, water, and a notebook are recommended.)
