At the Pavia Botanical Garden, everything is ready for the Rose Garden Festival! Sunday, April 26, the Garden will come alive for an entire day with a rich program of events dedicated to nature, culture, and leisure.
From 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, you can stroll among the FuoriOrto Market, among flowers, plants, and a street food area designed for aperitifs, lunch, and snacks, experiencing the garden atmosphere in a convivial and relaxed way. Also open throughout the day are the Carlo Mo Exhibition and the exhibition ''Local, Precious, and Forbidden Woods. Biodiversity Through Wood,'' set up at the Bosco Siro Negri Reserve Educational and Outreach Center, near the Tropical Greenhouse.
The program offers numerous opportunities to discover the botanical heritage of the Garden through guided tours, scheduled at 10:30 am, 2:30 pm, and 4:00 pm, organized by the Friends of the Botanical Garden Association. At 3:30 pm, curator Dr. Nicola Ardenghi will lead visitors on a special tour dedicated to the Rose Garden and other wonders of the garden.
Creativity will also be explored with two floral workshops led by Laura Morandi of Intrecci Floreali: at 10:30 am, a botanical-style floral arrangement workshop using local seasonal flowers and no foam, and at 3:30 pm, a workshop by Intreccio Caotico, on how to create an original wisteria container suitable for both home and garden.
Families can participate at 11:00 in Hunt for the Garden, a traveling workshop for children aged 6 to 11, while history and botanical collections enthusiasts can take part in the ''The Rose Garden in the Library'' tours, scheduled for 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM, to discover the Garden's library's precious historical holdings, with a focus on roses.
At 3:00 PM, you can also take a guided tour of the Carlo Mo Exhibition with Paola Mo, while at 3:00 PM, 4:00 PM, and 5:00 PM, visits to the Germoplasma Bank of the University of Pavia, a center of excellence for the conservation of plant biodiversity, are scheduled.
At 4:00 PM, the Orto Ritrovato event returns, a free activity reserved for Abbonamento Musei subscribers. The day will conclude at 4:30 PM under the Scopoli Plane Tree with the presentation of the book Sustainable Gardens by Francesco Fedelfio.
