Join us for a themed tour of the museum and garden, accompanying the exhibition '' Greetings from Villa Carlotta,'' featuring vintage postcards preserved in the Museum's Historical Archive. This event opens the celebrations dedicated to Duke Georg II of Saxony Meiningen at Villa Carlotta and, concurrently, in Meiningen, the duke's birthplace, whose birthday falls this year.
Through a selection of postcards, the exhibition traces the evolution of the garden, the villa, and the surrounding landscape, offering a glimpse into the transformations these places have undergone over time. The project was developed by interns from the Advanced Training Course in Museum and Exhibition Curators, Department of History, Anthropology, Religions, Arts, and Entertainment (SARAS) - Sapienza University of Rome, in collaboration with the museums of the 19th-Century Lombardy Network and the Villa Carlotta Foundation.
A journey that combines historical postcards with direct viewing of the places depicted.
