On Sunday, March 29, the Castello delle Rose di Cordovado (Cordovado, PN) will participate in ''Castelli Aperti,'' an event organized by the Consortium for the Safeguarding of Historic Castles of Friuli Venezia Giulia. This initiative aims to make a unique historical heritage accessible to all: castles, fortresses, and ancient residences scattered throughout the region.
Overlooking the gulf, nestled on green hills, immersed in splendid parks, or in the heart of ancient cities, these places tell centuries-old stories and hold often-hidden treasures.
Two events are scheduled throughout the year: Spring and Autumn, special opportunities to visit not only public castles but also private residences normally closed to the public.
An experience designed for those who love discovering authentic places: beyond the gates lie enchanting gardens, halls rich in art and memory, and evocative atmospheres that transport you back in time.
On the steps of fascinating medieval castles, you will be welcomed by the owners or expert guides, ready to share stories, curiosities, and secrets of an extraordinary heritage.
Let's discover together the program for the day at Cordovado Castle:
SUNDAY, MARCH 29
★ 11:00 AM
''The most beautiful job in the world. A man and his trees''
Andrea Maroč, agronomist and arborist, official of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and responsible for monumental and noteworthy trees, will talk to us about his work and lead us on a discovery of these trees in the castle park.
★ 4:00 PM
Presentations of the book ''Gherardo Freschi. A 19th-century Friulian, between science, a European vision, and concrete action''
With the authors Stefano Cosma and Cristina Burcheri.
Count Gherardo Freschi was a scholar, a great traveler, but above all, a man who chose to put his intelligence at the service of others. He walked the fields, observed the vineyards, and spoke with the farmers. He didn't retreat into the living room, but sought concrete solutions to improve the lives of those who worked the land every day: in Cordovado, Ranuscello, and San Vito.
A toast will follow, courtesy of Cantina Produttori Ramuscello and San Vito.
★ Create a vase for your favorite plant
