9° Bonsai Shohin Festival

Discovering mini-bonsai

The world of shohin will once again take center stage in Parabiago (MI) from March 6th to 8th at the Crespi Bonsai spaces, during the 9th edition of the Bonsai Shohin Festival. Collectors and enthusiasts from all over Italy and beyond will exhibit their small masterpieces.
Shohin are fascinating mini-bonsai, small in size-ranging from 5 to 25 cm-capable of conveying the same emotions as the majestic trees found in nature.

Japanese master Hiroki Miura, one of the world's leading shohin experts, will personally oversee the exhibition and will lead courses and workshops on training and maintenance techniques suitable for shohin, as well as a technical demonstration focused on creating a masterpiece to be presented at the Japanese exhibition, Gafu-ten. Don't miss the free guided tours of the shohin exhibition with master Miura, which are available by reservation only.

In addition to visiting the small bonsai exhibition, visitors will be able to access the Crespi greenhouses, normally closed to the public, to admire up close over one hundred thousand indoor and outdoor bonsai, including hundreds of specimens and a wide selection of shohin, both workable and companion plants. Visitors will also be able to visit the Crespi Bonsai Museum.

During the event, visitors, along with their small trees, will also be able to participate in free workshops, scheduled for both Saturday, March 7th and Sunday, March 8th. These workshops will provide advice on growing and shaping their own bonsai, thanks to the advice and guidance of Crespi Bonsai experts.

Don't miss the meeting on Friday, March 6th with Master Miura, who will be available from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM to answer questions about shaping and cultivating shohin.
