From 19 to 21 September, a three-day trek in the Oasi Zegna (Trivero, BI) through woods, pastures and breathtaking views.
A unique opportunity to discover the three stages of the new 'Cammino di Ermegildo' together with the nature guides of Over Alp. A circular route of about 51 km and 2,020 m of elevation gain, rich in history and nature, following in the footsteps of the solitary traveller Ermenegildo Zegna.
PROGRAMME
◈ Day 1 - Stage 1
Distance: 15 km
Elevation gain: +880 m / -270 m
Centro Zegna - Bocchetto Sessera
The trail starts from the Centro Zegna, and after a few minutes you are immersed in a chestnut forest, which soon gives way to the sunny pastures of the Piane di Barbato. A little further on, you reach the Santuario della Brughiera, a religious complex consisting of two buildings: the Chiesa Antica, dating back to the 16th century, and the main church. The sanctuary is an ideal place to stop for a break. The route continues through ancient villages and centuries-old chestnut trees until it reaches the Piane di Veglio, a perfect place to stop and enjoy the view. Finally, a steady climb leads to Bocchetto Sessera, a panoramic viewpoint and important mountain pass.
◈ Day 2 - Stage 2

Elevation gain: +810 m / -810 m
Bocchetto Sessera - Bocchetto Sessera
Leaving Bocchetto Sessera behind, after a scenic descent, you enter a beech forest that accompanies the trail to the Sessera stream, crossed by a suspension bridge. The route then leads to Piana del Ponte, where there is a cosy refuge and the remains of an 18th-century foundry. The stage continues uphill through ancient mountain pastures and spectacular mountain views. The highest point is Monticchio (1,697 m), from where you can admire a spectacular view.
◈ Day 3 - Stage 3
Distance: 18 km
Elevation gain: +330 m / -940 m
Bocchetto Sessera - Centro Zegna
The last day will take you through Alpe Moncerchio, where the pastures are home to the Pezzata Rossa cattle breed. You will continue along a path that offers breathtaking views under the Rocca d'Argimonia. The route continues through picture-postcard scenery and arrives at the Sanctuary of San Bernardo, a natural viewpoint overlooking the Po Valley. After an exciting descent, the journey ends at the Zegna Centre, the arrival point of the three-day walk.
