Trekking between history, nature and culture is a walk in the surroundings of Villa del Balbianello-Fai Property (Tremezzina, CO) to discover the beauty and history of the Tremezzina area.
The guided hiking tour starts from the ticket office of the Villa, along a stretch of the Greenway of Lake Como, you will reach the Church of Sant'Andrea, a significant testimony of Romanesque architecture in the area, and then going up the characteristic village of Molgisio you can admire the chapels of the Sacro Monte della Beata Vergine del Soccorso, a UNESCO heritage site; from here a panoramic path between lake, mountains and olive trees leads to the medieval Torre del Soccorso, also known as Barbarossa (Fai Property), for a private visit to the tower with a massive quadrangular mass in Moltrasio stone from whose top you can see the only island on Lake Como, Isola Comacina.
On the way back you will visit the Velarca (FAI Property), the Romanesque Church of Sant'Agata and you will cross the village of Carate and that of Campo admiring, from the outside, the seventeenth-century Villa Balbiano. Once you reach the ticket office of Balbianello again, you will climb to the top of Dosso di Lavedo with its panoramic views, and then visit the historic garden and the Villa.
The Hiking will take place with Mountain Guide Alessandra Villani, in groups of 16 people.
