From mountains to coasts, from hills to cities of art, from agricultural landscapes to islands: Sunday, September 6, 2026, marks the return of
FAI Panorama Day, the initiative organized by FAI since 2014 to invite the public to discover and observe the extraordinary variety of Italian landscapes.
Among the 19 sites involved, 6 are jewels of the
Grandi Giardini Italiani network of excellence:
Parco e Castello di Masino-Bene FAI (Caravino, Turin),
Oasi Zegna (Trivero, BI),
Palazzo Moroni-FAI Property (Bergamo),
Villa Rezzola-FAI Property (Lerici, SP),
Villa dei Vescovi-FAI Property (Luvigliano di Torreglia, PD), and
Villa Gregoriana-FAI Property (Tivoli, RM).
Now in its thirteenth edition,
Panorama Day offers a different way of experiencing the landscape: not just looking at it, but learning to ''read'' it, recognizing its transformations, fragilities, and value.
At a time when the effects of climate change and the transformations caused by human action are increasingly evident, carefully observing our surroundings also becomes an act of responsibility.
Pausing to observe the landscape with awareness means recognizing a heritage that belongs to everyone and that we are all called to protect.
🌿
Nature and Human Presence: The Story of TerritoriesItalian landscapes are the result of a unique intertwining of nature and human presence. They tell the story, identity, and culture of the communities that inhabit and have transformed these territories over time.
They are a legacy inherited from the generations that preceded us and that we are called to preserve and pass on to future generations.
👀
Observe from afar, discover up closeIn the 19 Italian landscapes involved, present in 11 regions, the public will be able to observe the panoramas ''from afar,'' learning to grasp their shapes, relationships, and transformations, but also discover them ''up close'' through a rich program of activities.

Stories dedicated to the history and evolution of the territoriesA journey that goes beyond what we simply see: sounds, scents, colors, atmospheres, and memories contribute to building what the FAI defines as a ''sensitive landscape,'' capable of arousing emotions, memories, and a profound sense of belonging. 💚

An invitation to look at the landscape with new eyesFAI Panorama Day 2026 is therefore an opportunity to slow down and observe. To discover that behind a hill, a forest, a coast, or an agricultural landscape, there is more than just a beautiful view, but a story made of nature, people, culture, and transformation.
And that knowing a landscape is the first step in learning to protect it.
